Tamil Nadu Engineering Cut-Off Calculator: To secure admission to any of the engineering colleges in Tamil Nadu, candidates need to clear the admission exam and meet the cut-off marks list prepared by the administrators of the organization. If you are preparing for Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission 2024, it is important to review the previous year’s cut-off marks list to anticipate this year’s cut-off marks. Here are some basic details about the engineering cut-off calculator. You will receive a copy of the list containing passing marks for various universities and exam subjects.

To determine the cutoff values for Tamil Nadu Engineering admissions, the marks obtained by students in Mathematics, Chemistry, and Physics are converted to 100, 50, and 50, respectively. The maximum total mark considered for the cutoff is 200. TNEA then uses a formula to calculate the cutoff marks, based on which the rank list of applicants is published. The order in which students apply for admission is also decided based on this cutoff.

Formula:

• Tamil Nadu Engineering Cut-off = Maths + (Chemistry / 2) + (Physics / 2)

Example

Mathematics – 91
Physics – 84
Chemistry – 75
Cut Off = 91 + (76 / 2) + (84 / 2) = 171/200

How to Calculate Cut-Off Marks for Engineering 2024

Maths, Physics, and Chemistry are the three subjects whose scores are added together to form the cutoff mark (out of 200) for students who appeared for the Plus Two exam after 2019, when the total marks were 600. For instance, let’s say a student scored 80 in Mathematics, 86 in Physics, and 78 in Chemistry in the Plus Two exam. Then, the cutoff mark for that student would be calculated as (80) + (86/2) + (78/2) = 80 + 43 + 39 = 162. It’s important to note that before 1200, the aggregate marks of the starboard were not accurate, and as a result, the cutoff was calculated differently.
