Duties of Junior Engineer in Indian Railways: Today we are going to see about duties of Junior Engineer in Indian Railways. One of the respectful jobs in railway is Junior Engineer. Duties of JE will be defined by the controlling officers depends on the place of posting. Candidates will be selected through RRB Railway examination. Job Responsibility may vary based on the departments. What is a duty of JE in Indian Railway?

  • Junior Engineer is needed to assist their officials like General Manager & other execute the jobs. Tracking & Maintenance of equipment also assigned for JE.

Junior Engineer Duties & Responsibilities in Indian Railway

  • RRB Junior Engineer in Civil Engineering
    • JE is responsible to work in the track & quarters for maintenance and repairs, creation of assets, small quarter construction, platform shed construction/Repairs, Painting, etc.
  • RRB Junior Engineer in Electrical Engineering
    • General Service: Development & maintenance of various equipment.
    • Traction Operation: Maintenance of Safety system.
    • Traction Distribution: Maintenance of Over Head Equipment and Substations. Monitoring these by Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition.
    • Traction Rolling Stock: Responsible for the production and Safeguard of Main EMUs, Electrical Multiple Units & Electric Locomotives.
  • RRB Junior Engineer in Electronics and Communication Engineering
    • Supervising both in Station units & production units. Submission of proposals for Revenue & works budget.
  • RRB Junior Engineer in Mechanical Engineering
    • Mechanical Workshop Engineer need to create a product without defects.
    • In Carriage & Wagon, they should inspect or monitor the trial components.
    • Diesel Mechanical Engineer need to maintain the operation of Diesel Locomotives.
  • RRB Junior Engineer in Computer/ IT
    • Planning & execution of IT matters in the railway including policy framing, website management, monitoring of very special issues, presentation and booklet making, procurement of IT Hardware/ Software/ Office Equipment & helping other sections.
