Learn and Earn Scheme: The Learn and Earn Scheme is a central govt Scheme for skill development of minorities, the program is also known as Seekho Aur Kamao. The Ministry of Minority Affairs, Government of India offers this learn-and-earn program to all the minority communities. The National Skill Development Policy focuses on skills and Knowledge helps make India the driving force behind economic and social development. This Learn and Earn program helps everyone from school leavers to small entrepreneurs to get ahead to create the world’s best manpower.

This scheme supports those students coming from rural areas, economically backward, intelligent but cannot afford higher education. They can earn money by doing technical work (related branch) after college timing as well as they can learn Competitiveness is determined by the capabilities of its people Create, share and use knowledge more effectively. This change will come India needs to make workers knowledge workers Highly flexible, analytical, adaptable and multi-talented. This Learn and Earn program Operating in India since FY 2013-14.

Objective of Learn and Earn Scheme

  • Reducing the unemployment rate of minorities
  • Preservation and promotion of traditional skills of minorities
  • To improve the employability of laborers, school dropouts etc
  • To create a better livelihood for minorities
  • Create a market opportunity for them
  • Development of skilled human resources of the country.

Scope of Learn And Earn Scheme 

  • The main objective of this Learn and Earn program is to improve the skills of minority youth.
  • Minority students get their modern/traditional occupations depending on their education Ability to analyze current economic trends and develop relevant skills.
  • Ministry of Minority Affairs will carry out the Skill Development Programme Nationally recognized Modular Employable Skills (MES).
  • Council of Vocational Training (NCVT). Bringing MES courses to students.
  • NCVT covers most traditional skills Minority communities e.g. Embroidery, Chikankari, Zardosi, Patch work, Gem and Jewellery, Weaving, Wood Carving, Leather Goods, Brass Metal Promotion of traditional industries such as works, glassware, carpets etc
  • Protect traditional arts and crafts practiced by minorities On the other hand it empowers the minority communities to face the market Seizing challenges and opportunities.

Eligibility of Learn And Earn Scheme 

  • Societies of the State Governments/UT Administrations registered under Societies Registration Act. The Societies may be constituted at State/UT level or District level depending upon the size of the State/UT. The Societies will be responsible for identification of the employment potential in their respective State/UT and the training institution, sponsoring minority candidates, monitoring their training and their placement.
  • Any private recognized/registered professional institution of repute conducting such skill development courses for at least last three years with established market linkages and placement record.
  • Any industry or an association of industries like ASSOCHAM, CII, FICCI etc.who are willing to run such skill up-gradation training centres as per financial norms of the scheme with a proper plan of placements.

How to apply Learn And Earn 

Step 1: Go to the official website of Learn and Earn @ minorityaffairs.gov.in

Step 2: Click on the ‘New Registration’ button and fill the required registration details.

Step 3: Once the registration is completed, your application id & password will be sent to your mobile number and email address.

Step 4: Back to page ‘Click on “Login to Apply”. Enter your Application ID and password.

Step 5: Read the details carefully, tick the checkbox and click on ‘Continue’ button.

Step 6: Fill the required details and click on ‘Save & Register’ to complete the registration process.

Step 7: Now click on ‘New Application’ tab and login using Application ID and Password.

Step 8: Fill the required details, upload the required documents and submit the application.

Step 9: On the left pane, click “Application Form”. The fields marked as * are compulsory. Fill the details and upload the documents.
